Objective:
The Research Assistant will be assigned to work on a number of ongoing research projects. The Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator in a variety of administrative and non-administrative tasks which may include locating and preparing resources,
facilities, equipment, materials for the research, data entry, and documentation. The research assistant will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator who is responsible for providing ongoing feedback, support, mentorship, and a formal evaluation of the Research Assistant work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Implements and follows research ethics, standards, and best practices.
● Performs research work, implementation, data collection, analysis, revise project related documents, documentation, and reporting.
● Conducts recruitment process as appropriate to research scope and objectives and follows set recruitment criteria.
● Schedules, organizes, and reports on the status of implementation of research activities which include locating resources, conducting literature reviews, and collecting data.
● Prepares and verifies database/spreadsheets accurately.
● Maintains records of research activities, and data entry.
● Assists in writing and edits materials for presentations and publications.
● Meets with Project Coordinator on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistant’s performance and the work implementation.
● Performs other related duties to the research as requested by the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications:
Education:
● Graduate of a postsecondary or Master’s student in a social science program.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
● Minimum one-year experience in conducting research.
● Experience with research techniques and methodology and data analysis software.
● Able to work independently and collaboratively.
● Able to problem solve technical and methodological issues that may arise.
● Fosters cultural humility and logical critical thinking/analysis.
● Knowledge of immigrant and refugee populations from collectivist cultures and conflict zones.
● Excellent command of English; strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Excellent time-management and organizational skills to meet deadlines, accomplish project tasks.
● Strong computer skills in Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
